IRS Grants Tax Relief for 21 Wisconsin Counties: Filing and Payment Deadlines Extended to November 2
If you or your business were affected by the recent severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding in Wisconsin, the IRS has announced tax relief that may give you some extra time.
Eligible taxpayers in covered disaster areas have until November2,2026to file federal tax returns and make federal tax payments.
Individuals and households that reside in Bayfield, Brown, Buffalo, Iowa, Jackson, Jefferson, Juneau, Kenosha, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marathon, Milwaukee, Outagamie, Racine, Rock, Sauk, Vernon, Washington, Waukesha, Waupaca, and Winnebago counties, as well as the Oneida Indian Reservation qualify for tax relief.
Depending on the situation, that relief may apply to:
- individual tax returns,
- business tax filings,
- tax payments,
- quarterly payroll tax returns, and
- certain excise tax returns.
In some cases, even taxpayers outside the disaster area may qualify if the records needed to meet a tax deadline are located in the affected area.
At Lucida, we know that disaster-related tax relief can be helpful, but it can also raise a lot of practical questions for individuals and business owners who are already dealing with enough. Our role is to help clients understand what applies to them, what deadlines may have changed, and what actions still need attention.
This is a good time to review your filing obligations, gather your records, and confirm whether any action is needed. If you were impacted by the Wisconsin storms, now is the time to ask questions and get clarity. Lucida is here to help!
